Forever’s End trailer review

[1/2 STAR]

Alright, I’m just going to ruin Forever’s End for you. She’s dead. The main character is dead and she’s in some kind of purgatory, reflecting on the events that lead up to her being dead.

Don’t get sucked in by her saying, “It’s been six years since the world ended.” This is not a zombie, post-apocalyptic survival story. What she’s talking about is it’s been six years since her world ended.

This film looks like yet another overwrought, pretentious, stupid love story that decides to explode the romance of two young people into Universal proportions. Not saying this kind of story can’t work (to all evidence, Romeo and Juliet works) but usually stories like this simply come off as overwrought, pretentious and stupid.

Also, does anyone remember that disaster of a film, The Lovely Bones? The innate problem with that story is that the narrator is telling the story from heaven, which leads me and everyone else to wonder: if you’re in heaven, why do I care? Even if you were horribly murdered, things seem to have worked out for you.

Ugh. That’s why I’m giving Forever’s End one and a half star. It’s just gonna be too much. And they’re probably going to hide the fact that she’s dead until three quarters of the way through the movie. Stupidness.
